Foundation Piecing 2
We run Foundation Piecing 1 for those new to the technique and Foundation Piecing 2 for sewers with experience of Foundation Piecing.
Foundation Piecing 2 covers more advanced techniques and we will be working on producing Mariners Compass blocks.
You can do just one days or you can do both Foundation Piecing workshops, arriving at the start with little or no experience and leaving at the end of the second day with the skills to create beautiful precise shapes and pictures.
A lovely homemade lunch, all materials, and refreshments throughout the day are included.

What will we cover at the workshop?
You will be familiar with the principles of Foundation Piecing and have experience of the technique, or you will have attended our Foundation Piecing 1 workshop which is the introduction to the processes used.
Workshop 2 will focus on progression to more complex designs and we will be working on Mariners Compass.. This fantastic quilt block is perfect as a center-piece for a design or as a stand-alone motif.

Alison Batchelor
I started my first patchwork in 1973, when this age-old craft was increasing in popularity. Since then I have designed and produced innumerable pieces and continue to sew on a daily basis. I have City & Guilds in Patchwork & Quilting and Adult Teaching qualifications and have been teaching for over 12 years at both beginner and more advanced levels. I am delighted to be leading this workshop at Tig's Barn and hope to see you on one of my courses. By the end of the workshop you will have learnt techniques that you will be able to apply to projects of your own.
